The Purge is Coming...
As part of a disk space (and name availability) optimization project we will be implementing a three pronged purge of inactive profiles on Saturday February 25th.
The initiative will entail the following purges:
1) Non-remort characters level 2-10 who have not logged in over the past 12 months
2) Non-remort characters level 11-20 who have not logged in over the past 18 months
3) Quarterly purge whereby inactive profiles of a certain level (to be determined) will be purged on a regular basis
This notice will be posted on Board 7 and Avatar Mailers. If you have any questions, please contact your nearest Immortal.

Essential maintenance 12 Jan 2012 at 4AM EST/System time
Avatar will be down for approximately one hour from 04:00 EST (system
time) on 12th January 2012 (tomorrow) for a server migration. When we
come back up, we will be temporarily running on the Avatar West server,
however all pfiles and data will be fully migrated over. There may be a
slight delay while the DNS for avatar.outland.org is updated, so please
use avatarwest.outland.org if avatar.outland.org is unavailable.

Over the years the Immortal team has received numerous requests from players who wish to change the race or class of one of their characters – with quite different reasons or circumstances. We have therefore undertaken a general review and will shortly be implementing a number of changes that increase the number of options available to players. How these new options are accessed will be clarified separately.

Ample warning will be given prior to the purges in order for players to log in characters who they do not wish to be purged.

Luckily Avatar is available for your adventure cravings most of the time.
But there's always ther chance that we have some issues (crash, hanging mud, network issues)
Usually players are the first to find out, and together we manage to fix it quickly.
However, to streamline this process we've written a short procedure to make sure detailed info reaches the IMM team as fast as possible.

A new XP logic has been implemented that encourages grouping through a reduction in the speed at which XP gained drops along the XP curve as group size increases. The changes are still being discussed and tested. If you notice anything strange or have any questions/comments, the code changes are being discussed on the website forums. A lot of work has gone into these changes so please provide any feedback you can.

asunder. Tannah Machadae destroyed the town of Ofcol, warping the ground
the way she saw fit, killing most of the town's folks.
A few lucky denizens got away but now find themselves without permanent homes.
