Waiting for a group can be tedious. The "GROUP ME" command tells others that you are looking for a group and is a great tool. Type "WHO GROUP" to see the list. - Locqui

Winterland Token turn in - Deadline January 9th
Posted on behalf of Anessa, Quest Mistress to the Gods!
The time for the demise of Winterland quickly approaches. All tokens will need to be turned in by midnight system time on January 9th.
Some tokens / items will disappear as well.
Remember: Items with Winterland in the name (other than Reindeer Quest apple bag) will disappear once the area is removed.
If you are looking to turn in tokens, check the title of quest staff and Immortals. Some may be helping take tokens, so we can be sure to gather all the tokens before they disappear
Also, I promised a list of the 'hidden' immortals in the area.
That list follows, but I'm still not going to publish just which NPC they are, to allow you a few more days of hunting for them.
Hidden Immortals: Pliny, Elomecla, Darii, Mendek, Riviat, Snikt, and Kariya.
As always, feedback appreciated, directly to myself, Kariya or the quest mailer.

Happy New Year Avatar!
The celebration of the solstice is past. Whether you celebrated Yule, Christmas, Kwanza, Hanukkah, all, none, or something else entirely, we hope that you made merry.
For those of us who use a Western calendar, the New Year, 2009, is not long away. Do you have a resolution to share with us? It can be related to life here on Avatar, or real life.
On behalf of the Angels, Staff, and Immortals of Avatar, I would like to wish you all a very Happy Holidays! We also hope that you all enjoy a safe and happy New Year! Be sure to keep an eye out for fun happenings on Avatar and also make sure that you check out Winterland before it disappears.
After turning in a truly epic voting performance, Hylaeus has claimed the title of November's Top Voter! Thank you for your great work Hylaeus! Your support for the MUD is very much appreciated. To the two runners up, Ebnodon and Wiseman, and everyone else who voted, thank you for your efforts as well!
Voting is the best way to get Avatar recognition on the web and help bring in new players. Hopefully December'scompetition will be just as fierce and perhaps we'll see a new champion crowned...
Happy Voting!
What a joyous occasion it is today! It is my 24th birthday! However, now is
not a time to celebrate. As I was travelling throughout Midgaardia,
I was knocked out at some point in the Valley of the Sun. When I came to,
some mobs had stolen the birthday candles from my cake. I spoke with Aelmon
later and he informed me they were scattered throughout several hero areas.
I did not want to overwork myself to retrieve the candles on my birthday
so I bought a new pack of candles for my cake. The original candles are
still out there however. Though the heat from Valley of the Sun may have
melted them a bit, they may still prove to be useful for you heroes.
There are 24 in all in honor of my 24th birthday.
Thieron
*** NOTE: Please use only heroes for this quest. ***
Update:
Thieron thanks everyone for retrieving his candles. While most of them were retrieved, a few weren't found in time and dissipated.
Many thanks to Thieron for holding his first quest, and we look forward to many more!

Schema's Cryptoscramble!
Introducing Schema's Puzzle of the Week!
Kicking off my puzzle of the week line will be a cryptoscramble.
Few things first though - some general rules regarding puzzle of the week
1. Each month, the highest performer will receive an additional prize
This will be determined by a simple rating system, scoring 2 points for
completion, 3 for 3rd, 4 for 2nd and 5 for 1st.
2. Submission is one per player, not one per alt, any abuse found
to this end will result in disqualification, possibly permanent.
3. Collaboration between players is allowed, but keep in mind that in the case
of ties, prizes will be lower than should a single person win - though
the average prize should be the same.
4. Prizes not yet determined for this one.
Without further ado... the cryptoscramble
Qzueeg-bydul cu et hebyfii za e puisteri quezeg ut greepe. Cutfaws,
Famjacw met Cuby pixe crux "drufuwe".
A cryptoscramble is a combination of a cryptogram and a scramble.
You can look those up if needed, or ask me if you see me for clarification
For this puzzle, the following hints will be given:
1. There is no first person.
2. In this puzzle, vowels are all represented by other vowels.
3. Capitalization correspond to the result, not to that specific letter.
4. Letters are NOT scrambled between words, hyphenation indicates two words.
Good Luck, will give more hints in note form, if seems necessary
Please DON'T ask for personal hints.
Submit your answer to board 2. Deadline is, as expected, a week!
Schema.
Revision changes:
a M in 2nd sentence, 2nd word was replaced with a C due to a mistake on my part

The spreading of the lowly Imps
And, amidst much grumbling and muttering, the Gods decided to make the creatures commonly known as Lesser Imps available to those who are desperate for a formidable challenge. This should teach them...
Please be aware that we do NOT encourage advertising of Avatar on other
muds, particularly spamming on channels or notes.
If you mention Avatar on another game, you are effectively acting as an
ambassador for Avatar. Please help us by making sure that you give the
right impression if you do so by respecting other games.
We expect players from other muds to respect our game when they come and
try us out and it is only fair to other games for us to extend the same
courtesy to them if we, as Avatar players, are visitors to their game.
While we are obviously happy to gain new players, we don't want to do so
by going to other muds and actively encouraging people to stop playing
there and coming to play Avatar.
Spamming other muds in Avatar's name harms our reputation with other muds
and this is not something we wish to happen.
Sure, tell your friends about us if you think that they will be interested
but please don't go to other muds and say "Your MUD sucks, come play
Avatar instead!" etc.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
